It’s been awhile. Hello, my beloved steadfast Internet friends .

The summer was beautiful, and I did a lot of running, my latest passion. My dreams of a fall marathon came to an early end at 25 miles per week. My shin pain was too great and I thought it wise to heal-up and run another day. I’m all healed now, and I’m running in a completely different kind of shoe. They worked wonders. The pain faded even as I loaded on the miles and intensity. My new goal is to hit our big 12k in under 1 hour next season. But this is an art community…

I am returning to drawing after nearly two years of absence. Fall is always inspiring to me. I may post a bit here and there, and I might block “COMMENTS” since I want to spend my time drawing and not typing. “NOTES” are always appreciated and adored. My current dream consists of a fantasy comic book story. I have no plans of promoting this project or myself as an artist for pay. All I can focus on at this time is just putting pencil to paper for the pure joy of it. I still don’t have much time, but at least the desire is burning bright!

Love you guys. Chat more when I can.

JINGLE BELL RUN FOR ARTHRITIS

Thu Nov 12, 2009, 5:38 AM
arthritis

I am forming a team of Pack 280 Cub Scouts and family members to participate in the “Jingle Bell Run” on Saturday, the 21st of November. Not only will we have a great time at the event, but we’ll raise money to help prevent, control, and cure arthritis.

WE WILL BE THERE WITH BELLS ON! :santa:

The "Jingle Bell Run" is a fun and festive way to kick off the holiday season by helping others! We tie jingle bells to our shoelaces, run a 5 kilometer route, and celebrate the season by giving.

You too Carolyn! :pumpkin: It should be a good day. I have nothing pressing during the day, and I'm feeling creative. I've been up writing this morning; something that never happens.

I never did get around to making a mask, but I am reading a book about carving wooden masks. I love them all. It doesn't matter what culture they come from. They are all amazing!

Thanks for the kudos on the pumpkins!

How goes the job search?

Also, have you ever read Cormac McCarthy? I've heard good things.

BOO! :zombie:

Thanks, Ben! Aside from work, it was fun. :)

That is wonderful to hear!

Are you going to try your hand at carving a mask? :excited:

You're welcome, the :pumpkin:s were awesome!

I have yet to get any calls back, but I'm not going to give up; I don't know how much longer I will be able to handle my current job.....'monotony is a mind killer'......fingers crossed for a job at a bookstore!

I read 'The Road' a few years back, it was a very good read; he painted a vivid, haunting picture of a post apocalyptic America.

Hope your Halloween was a good one! :fuzzydemon:

You deserve the bookstore job. You really do. My hopes are with you on that!

I'm still reading and I need a set of chisels, but I think that I most definitely will be carving a mask in the coming months.

McCarthy has a few stories based in early American Appalachia. I think I'll start there, but I also want to read "The Road" before I see that film. Choices choices.

Halloween was great! It was fairly warm here for once. I ended up wearing a rubber skull mask that I commonly use as a decoration. It was fun to wear a mask again. It's been a few years. Masks are strangely transformative and magical. The kids cleaned up on candy too. Our neighborhood really goes all out, and it's a safe environment for them. A few houses even have living decorations that jump out at you from the shadows. Big fun for everyone!
