This totally reminds me of sketches I've seen in my "Art of World Of Warcraft" book...you rock! I admire the way you take such care in the tiniest of details; the longhorn really adds a touch of whimsy as does the wheelbarrow. Actually, both make it seem as if this could all be happening in my friend's field behind her house :D

This looks great Ben! The only thing I'm wondering about, though, the mountains in the background. I presume this is a night scene, so it almost seems like there's a little too much definition in the mountain details. There's a pretty strong light source on them. I don't know though, I could be totally wrong.

Awesome work anyway!

Thanks Shannon. I think you have a valid point if it reads shockingly wrong to you.

For me, I saw it as a sundown scene, in a valley, where the last dirty rays of sunlight are still directly hitting the surrounding high crags and causing more contrast in the distance than would be typical. I was hoping this would be evidenced by the lack of blue-ness in whole background. Even where the light of the explotion can't reach, there is yellow added to the base colors and the greens go to olive.

Ahhh thank you Angela!! Hey, it just might look like the Fraser River Valley, eh? :aww: Great comment! :boogie: You are the second person to mention World of Warcraft. I gotta check that out ;)

Yeah, just ignore me. I got to thinking after I posted that this could be at dusk, which would make sense with the low light on the horizon. I was just thinking "night scene" after you and I talked last night.

Oh, you should!
My favourite artist from the WoW team is Samwise Didier :D He's got some really great stuff...all of the artists for the game are excellent, though! I bet you could get a lot of inspiration from some of their work.
